What the Playbook does

THE ULTIMATE RECRUITING + PERFORMANCE + STUDY SYSTEM FOR ALL STUDENT-ATHLETES

The book plus the 9 resources you run it with.

I went from an academic probation warning and hitting .169 at Cornell to earning an Ivy League Civil Engineering degree with two Dean’s List semesters, signing a paid professional baseball contract, and walking into engineering job offers with total peace of mind. These exact systems work. And they will work for you.

This is not just a book. It’s the whole system. Every system in here comes with the tool you run it with. Trackers, fillable blueprints, coach email templates, scripts, your sport’s recruiting dates. Nine of them, free, QR-linked in the chapter that teaches it.

Not that long ago though, my reality hit rock bottom. I was sitting at the end of a freezing dugout in New Jersey with a broken hand, a 2.7 GPA, and that .169 batting average, and an office full of Cornell advisors telling me I wasn't built for Division 1 sports and civil engineering. I knew I had to lock in... but where do you even start?

Over the next three years, I didn't get smarter or magically more talented overnight. Instead, I did one thing differently: I built systems so good that failure became mathematically unreasonable.

Here’s exactly what this system will show you how to do:

How To Turn Cold Emails Into Real College Offers

The 50-School Machine: How to build a targeted list across D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO so you never rely on "luck" to get recruited again.

The Coach’s-Inbox Formula: The exact subject lines and non-generic emails that force recruiting coordinators to open your message and write back.

The 7-Touchpoint Rule: How to convert cold outreach into camp invites, phone calls, and real financial aid agreements.

Leverage & Negotiation: How to handle exploding offer deadlines, ask for more time, and stack multiple offers without burning bridges.

How To Build An Undeniable Body & Mind

The Controllables Metric Loop: The weekly testing system that pinpoints your weakest metric and forces physical adaptation without guesswork.

The 15-Minute Weekend Gap-Mark: How to get ahead of a full week of lectures in 3 hours flat using SQ3R and active recall.

The Easy-Money-First Exam System: The 3-pass test-taking strategy that took my engineering exam scores from sub-60% to the 80s and 90s.

The 2-Week Runway: The scouting report timeline that turns exam prep into a light review session instead of a 2 a.m. cram fest.

How To Master Your Mindset & Join The Top 1% Of The 1%

The Mirror Test: How to objectively evaluate your physical metrics and transcript against real level averages before sending a single email.

The Discernment Filter: The two simple decision questions that make saying "no" to average habits effortless so you can protect your main goal.

The Path of Least Regrets: A 90-year-old visualization framework that gives you absolute clarity when facing major life, athletic, and career crossroads.

The methods contained within this book eliminate guessing entirely. Execute just one strategy from these pages and your investment will pay for itself immediately in your training numbers, your transcript, and your inbox.

If you are ready to take total control of your recruitment, dominate your classes, and maximize your 11 percent window before time runs out... CLICK GET THE PLAYBOOK RIGHT NOW, execute the systems, and see the transformation for yourself.

Sample ends where Part 1 begins. The full Playbook is 123 pages across five connected parts.

I struck out 145 times at Cornell. This is the system I wish I had sooner.

After my first year, I had a 2.7 GPA, hit .169, broke my hand halfway through the season, and wondered whether I belonged. By senior year, I was a four-year starter, a two-time captain, and on the Dean’s List. I wrote the systems that helped me make that change into this 121-page Playbook so you can start using them before survival mode becomes your normal.

THE ACTUAL PLAYBOOK

Five parts. One connected roadmap.

You will not be left with motivation and a blank page. Each part shows you what to look at, what to build, and what to do next.

Part 1 roadmap: Know Where You Stand

PART 1

Know Where You Stand

Stop guessing about whether you are “good enough.” Run the Mirror Test and get honest about where you are today.

  • Test the athletic metrics coaches actually track for your sport and position.
  • Compare your numbers with real college-level benchmarks.
  • Run the same gap check on your GPA and test scores.
  • Understand recruiting gates, timelines, divisions, and what a commitment does and does not mean.
Part 2 roadmap: Performance and Study Systems

PART 2

Performance & Study Systems

Build the body and mind that can carry the opportunity you are chasing.

  • Use the Controllables Metric Loop to attack your weakest number and test it every week.
  • Build consistency around training, recovery, sleep, and food without overcomplicating it.
  • Combine SQ3R, active recall, spaced repetition, and the Feynman Technique into one study loop.
  • Run the Easy-Money-First exam system and a two-week test-prep runway.
Part 3 roadmap: Go Get Recruited

PART 3

Go Get Recruited

Turn “I hope a coach notices me” into a repeatable outreach machine.

  • Build a list of 50 schools using the six filters that actually matter to you.
  • Know who to email, what to say, and how to follow up every two months.
  • Stack film, emails, camps, showcases, and in-person touchpoints.
  • Handle the first call, the offer, the deadline, and the request for more time without freezing.
Part 4 roadmap: When You Get There

PART 4

When You Get There

The offer is not the finish line. This part is about what happens when the environment gets harder and average starts pulling at you.

  • Use the Path of Least Regrets when you reach a real crossroads.
  • Filter repeatable distractions from one-shot opportunities.
  • Choose your circle and learn when saying no protects the life you said you wanted.
  • Understand when free advice has stopped being enough and real mentorship matters.
Part 5 roadmap: Execution and the Life After

PART 5

Execution & The Life After

Pull the whole system together, run it, and make sure sports builds something you can keep.

  • Consolidate the 12 core lessons into one clear operating system.
  • Close the gap between having information and actually executing it.
  • Chase your own Path of Least Regrets with zero big what-ifs.
  • Carry the same systems into school, work, business, and whatever comes after the uniform.

VERIFIED PLAYBOOK REVIEWS

Real talk from real student-athletes.

★★★★★
This book wasn’t something I thought I needed until I read it. It’s everything you want in a mentor written down in a book. For a while, I found myself stuck on how to actually execute the dreams I envisioned for myself. I knew what I wanted to accomplish, and I knew the person I wanted to become, but there was always this gap between envisioning it and actually knowing what to do next. This book helped me put structure to that gap. It didn’t necessarily give me the answers, but it gave me a framework to ask myself the right questions, organize what I wanted, and actually move toward it. I originally picked it up because I wanted to support my friend. I didn’t expect to find something I’d genuinely come back to for guidance. In a weird way, it feels like having a mentor sitting on my bookshelf.

As Student-Athletes, we are all unique and have our own stories. We don’t live in the same timeline for when certain things happen in our lives. The grounding that this book provides is phenomenal. You might as well call it "The Blueprint for Success in Life".

As Student-Athletes, we are all unique and have our own stories. We don’t live in the same timeline for when certain things happen in our lives. The grounding that this book provides is phenomenal. You might as well call it "The Blueprint for Success in Life".

After meeting and becoming close with Jakobi Davis at the end of my junior year going into the start of my senior year, his teachings have completely turned my life from being on the brink of failure and giving everything up to excelling in life. Reading this book allows you to understand life, your life specifically.

As a Student-Athlete, I had ZERO systems in my life to keep me on the right track to play in college. I woke up every morning having ZERO clue what my day was going to look like, always doing the bare minimum. Then I met Jakobi Davis. Listening to him after he has already gone through the whole process of high school and D1 Baseball at Cornell, where he was forced to learn and create his own systems to achieve success in the top 1%, has set not only me, but also my future self up for lifelong success, this being outside of sports too!

Figuring out the daily actions/habits you need to be able to build/create an everyday routine in order for your daily life to start aligning with your dreams/desires in life is the biggest game changer of them all.

Everyone has their own potential, but sitting back and just thinking is only the first step toward achieving success. It’s hard, but learning to embrace failure and not to run or hide from it because of the embarrassment you're afraid of will change your life. Trust me, I know this. This is where Jakobi came in, being real with me, and providing sound advice. Live your life by the Path of Least Regrets. Mentally, I was in the worst state of my life. I needed something or someone to get me back on my two feet. This is where the words of Jakobi flipped that switch, they completely altered my mindset and how to look at things. This perspective shift continues to make me believe in myself more than I ever have before. I thought I was full, now I’m starving. This urge he brought to me to face all these challenges, quit living an easy life, and especially to do what I love to do has immensely lifted my spirits. I don’t even think of it as being disciplined anymore, I’m just living a structured life I love.

The systems Jakobi offers in this book simply stack on top of each other. Figure yourself out, implement these new study and performance systems (Performance being from Sports, Workouts, Diet, Sleep Schedule, etc…) Then you can confidently start reaching out to schools for your recruiting process.

Jakobi offers the most TOP-NOTCH recruiting system, with unmatched advice nobody else could explain better. The doors this recruiting system opens for your future self allows you to even be able to find that 1 college that you’ll love spending the next 4 years at while perfectly accommodating your own situation, for Sports AND Education!

Jakobi’s book then dives into what you should expect at college, informing you instead of again having to figure this out yourself. Knowing stuff ahead of time is a KEY factor in being able to navigate through this new land and make the best possible decisions that lead you to the results you want. It's like looking at a map of an island you’ve never been to before so you don’t get lost. I mean, obviously, who wouldn't do that, right?

Finally, at the end of the day, we will all eventually hang up our cleats. What do we do now? This is where Jakobi explains how these systems are not just for sports, but are meant to be for your entire life. He answers how you will bring these systems with you to stay as efficient and be as productive as possible, residing in that top 1% making success inevitable.

Before reading this book, you must understand that no matter how much knowledge you can obtain, it is still only up to you to make that success a reality. Life takes effort. If you are still not sure about the book after reading this, go ahead and buy it. You will never regret making this purchase.

WHAT THIS HELPS YOU SOLVE

You do not need to arrive at the next level in survival mode.

The Playbook gives you a connected roadmap for the questions student-athletes usually get forced to answer alone. Where do I really stand? How do I close the gap? How do I get recruited? How do I handle the opportunity when it finally arrives? And who am I building beyond the game?

  • Measure the athletic and academic gaps that actually matter
  • Build study routines around practice, games, and travel
  • Turn training and recovery into a repeatable weekly loop
  • Create a recruiting list and a real follow-up process
  • Prepare for coach calls, camps, offers, and deadlines
  • Make hard decisions without letting pressure choose for you
  • Protect your confidence when results get ugly
  • Build an identity and a life that continue beyond sports
